BRICS Nations Forge a Common Future, United by Shared Values. From Cultural Sovereignty to a Multipolar World: Newly Codified Principles Set to Propel Collaboration to Unprecedented Levels Across Economy, Technology, and Social Development
At the Second BRICS Forum “Traditional Values: Uniting Traditions, Strengthening Nations”, held in Brasília from September 15–17, 2025, representatives of the BRICS countries officially presented a unified list of common values designed to serve as a moral and cultural foundation for future cooperation.
The list highlights mercy, cultural sovereignty and equality of cultures, economic well-being and social justice, a multipolar world, health, development, responsibility towards future generations, humanism and peacefulness, mutual respect, moderation and avoidance of fanaticism, solidarity and unity, and a culture of integrity.

These values reflect the shared aspirations of BRICS nations — Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa — to promote harmony, justice, and sustainable progress amid global transformations.
The emphasis on a "multipolar world" and "equality of cultures" underscores a collective vision for a more balanced global order, challenging hegemony and promoting fair development for all regions. Simultaneously, values like "health," "responsibility for future generations," and "humanism" highlight the bloc's commitment to sustainable and people-centric progress.
“Thanks to this shared value system, BRICS cooperation can reach a new level of success — not only in culture but also in economic, technological, social, and humanitarian spheres,” said Deputy Dmitry Kuznetsov, Member of the Russian Federation State Duma Committee on International Affairs and Vice President of the Forum.
“The agreed values provide a powerful moral framework that will inspire joint development and mutual understanding among nations,” he added.

The Forum brought together parliamentarians, business leaders, cultural figures, and civil society representatives from BRICS countries, as well as partner and candidate states. The event continues the dialogue initiated in Moscow in 2024, reaffirming BRICS’ commitment to shared traditions, respect, and a just multipolar world.
